About the Roadmap

The journey of this project began with a simple question: What role can, and should, Flamboyan Foundation play in making family engagement a sustainable priority in U.S. public schools?

The question prompted a landscape scan of the current state of family engagement practices

Which revealed a critical gap – while family engagement resources abound at the classroom and school level, and the proliferation of statewide engagement centers provides guidance at the state level, very little practical guidance and support was available to system leaders to build and sustain the conditions in which effective family partnerships can develop across a district or charter management organization.

To fill that gap, Flamboyan Foundation gathered together the nation’s leading experts and a cadre of high-performing system leaders to begin to bring this vision to life.

This advisory board shaped the development of the Roadmap through a collaborative and iterative series of working sessions. The result is this free Roadmap resource. We welcome your feedback on how we can continue to improve this resource for system leaders.
